Type Locality and Naming
Along the village of Obizard, Turkestan Range. V. D. Saltovskaya in 1966 (403, p. 47). Stratotype on the left bank of the Madm River, 1.5-2 km upstream from the village of Madm.
Synonym: Obizard Suite, Обизардская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Lower part - rhythmically alternating gravels, sandstones, and slates (flysch); middle - polymictic conglomerates with boulders and olistoliths (up to 1000 m) of carbonate, terrigenous, siliceous, less frequently volcanic and intrusive rocks. Upper part - rhythmic alternation of sandstones and clay slates. Thickness 250-800m.

Lower contact
Transgressively overlies the limestones of the Urmitan Fm (Chumkartau Mountain)
Upper contact
Overlying deposits not established.
Regional extent
Turkestan Range, Zarafshan Valley.

In limestone pebbles, boulders, and blocks, algae, foraminifera, corals, brachiopods from the Silurian to the Visean stage of the early Carboniferous (402). In the cement of conglomerates and sandstones, algae Ungdarella uralica Masl., Beresella sp., foraminifera - Profusulinella sp.
